Traditionally, many people have thought that although the process of implementation may go on for a considerable period of time, depending on the circumstances and the technology, it must end eventually. At some point, it was thought, the new technology becomes institutionalised and viewed as part of stable operations.
Many new technologies, however, seem to change all of this. It is best now to consider that the process of implementation never actually ends, as some people are continually re-inventing and continually looking at ways of improving their processes incrementally.
At this point, therefore, our individual/group implementation process rejoins the larger organisational-level innovation process again, as we find a continual loop of measurement, feedback and adjustment.
